چکیده
UNLABELLED Maxillary sinus floor elevation is generally accepted as a regenerative procedure to facilitate dental implants placement in the posterior atrophic maxilla. Although the sinus lift procedure is relatively safe, some potential problems could be occur. The most prevalent intraoperative complication is perforation of sinus membrane, which can lead to graft infection and early failure. THE AIM OF THIS WORK Is to present a new technique to repair large perforation of sinus membrane. THIS CASE REPORT Is focused on a 10 mm perforation of sinus membrane occurred during preparation of the sinus window. The obliteration of the perforation was obtained by means of suturing sinus membrane with a resorbable material to the bone directly lateral to the osteotomy site. Sinus augmentation procedure could complete and the insertion of a graft was permitted.

Maxillary sinus membrane repair: update on technique for large and complete perforations.
Maxillary sinus membrane perforation is the most common complication that occurs with sinus elevation augmentation surgery. A technique using a slow resorbing type I collagen membrane for repair of large and complete sinus membrane perforations is described. The biocompatibility and semirigid structural integrity of this membrane, along with external tack fixation, allows for optimal membrane s...
متن کاملUsing Absorbable Gelatin Sponge to Facilitate Sinus Membrane Elevation during Open Sinus Lift: Technical Notes and Case Series
Ridge atrophy accompanied by the pneumatization of maxillary sinus in the maxillary posterior region may lead to inadequate bone height, thereby precluding implant placement. Therefore, it may be mandatory to perform a sinus membrane elevation procedure and augmentation in the bone. The present study aimed to introduce a novel modification method for sinus floor elevation using a gelatin sponge...

PURPOSE A novel technique for transcrestal guided sinus lift elevation (TGSL), is described underlining the step by step surgical protocol. MATERIALS AND METHODS TGSL modified osteotome technique was planned by the NobelProcera(®) Software Planning Programm (Nobel Guide, Nobel Biocare AB) and performed by stereolitographic template. The depth of the planned osteotomy was determined precisely ...

Introduction Perforation of maxillary sinus mucous membrane is of the most prevalent complication during open sinus lift surgery. Moreover, such complication can usually be managed by an absorbable membrane. As far as absorbable membranes are concerned, decellularized maxillary sinus mucous membranes, which is an extracellular matrix, can be used as a biologic scaffold and insulating membrane ...
متن کاملA simple method for repairing membrane sinus perforation
The classical sinus lift procedure is a well-documented technique and Schneiderian membrane perforation is one of the most common complications. Various repairs have been developed for managing sinus membrane perforations. We describe a new suture technique of Schneiderian membrane that makes it possible to complete a sinus lift procedure that otherwise might have been aborted by preventing los...
